The Basics of Covert Hypnosis

By Shane Wilson

In general, hypnosis is used to help individual's with anxiety, dealing with a habit, to cope with pain and even to overcome fears or phobia's. Usually hypnosis is done by a qualified hypnotherapist in a quiet setting. Hypnosis is a way to help relax someone's mind in an attempt to open the mind for suggestion. In this article we'll be discussing a certain type of hypnosis called covert hypnosis.

Covert hypnosis is different from conventional hypnosis in that it is used to communicate with an individual on a subconscious level without putting them under. This clever form of hypnosis can be accomplished without the other person having a clue. This form of hypnosis has many reasonings behind it but what it boils down to is having the ability to steer someone's thought process into thinking or feeling in a manner that suits you. One of the premier examples of this is a car salesman. These type of salesman and many others have mastered this technique to close the deal and make you feel good about it.

Covert hypnosis can be achieved in two basic steps that anyone can learn. In the first step, you need to build trust or rapport with the individual of your focus. Building trust helps put the individuals mind at ease and opens it up for suggestion. This sometimes is not as easy as it may appear. To do this effectively, you need to come down to the individual's level. This can be done by agreeing with them in a conversation that you are engaging in. For example, if the person you are focusing on says they dislike the way car salesmen pressure them, you could agree that you are not fond of them either. This will increase the comfort zone of the individual with you and make it easier to build rapport with them.

Now that you have the rapport established, you can now use covert hypnosis to influence them through conversation and body language. With this covert technique, an individual can subconsciously steer a conversation in any manner they see fit to attain a certain goal. Again, a car salesman is a great example of this. They have mastered this technique and can subtly guide you into a new car and make you feel good about forking over 30 grand a while keeping a smile on your face. This is a powerful way of using covert hypnosis in order to achieve a desired outcome.

Once mastered, covert hypnosis can be utilized to influence a conversation with simplicity. But to become a master, you need to practice. It may take a while, but you will be amazed out what you can accomplish when you can have everyone in line with your thoughts and views. You'll soon find that you can do this on a whim with practice and effortlessly pull people in any direction that you see fit.
